Canyon Lake Birding and Gorge Tour Excursion

Come explore the birding trails, hike Canyon Lake Gorge with a guide, and stay for lunch.

Birding from 8:00 to 10:30-11:00 or so will be led by local birders who know the area and the local birds. We will furnish information on where to meet later. It is possible we will bird in two smaller groups. The trail can be somewhat steep and rocky in places; hiking sticks are recommended. There is no charge for the birding. Stay tuned for more details.

Explore the self-guided trail at Canyon Lake Gorge until time to join our 90-minute tour of the gorge led by Gorge Preservation leader at 11:30. Tour is $16.75/person including Ticketleap fee and worth every penny. We will meet at the entrance to the Canyon Lake Gorge, which is just down the hill from the Tye Preson Library (directions under Get There). There is ample free parking. Walk to the Canyon Lake Gorge Visitor Center to meet the group at 11:15 to be ready to start the tour at 11:30. After the tour, join the group for lunch at Wildflour Artisan Bakery & Grill just down the road from Canyon Lake Gorge. Staying for lunch is optional; everyone will pay their own check. Check out the menu HERE
